How To Measure

Measuring your dog correctly is the most important step when ordering.  Please
take your time when measuring and have someone with you to help.
Shown in the above diagram are areas that you will need to measure for any of the
apparel we offer at Dinky Dawg Shoppe.  If you don't have a cloth measuring tape,
use a piece of ribbon or string and then measure that against a ruler or yardstick.

Place the tape around the neck at the place where a collar would fit.
Try not to pull tight or let it hang too loose.  Now write down the inches
on a piece of paper and then...measure the neck again....then repeat one more time:)
This way you are sure it's the exact measurement. Don't add inches in the total
so your pup has 'room to grow', or add inches in the overlap to where the velcro
straps attach. I will figure that out for you. I just need the ACTUAL measure.

Ok, now REPEAT the above for the chest size.  Remember, this does NOT go around the
stomach. It goes directly behind the front legs around the widest part of the
chest or ribcage. Depending on your breed of dog, the widest part of the chest
could be further back behind the front legs. Always give the widest measurement
so that it will fit around the dog. Good Work! ( I KNOW how squirmy these little
dogs can be---whew!)

Now the midback. If you are ordering the vest/dress, then measure along the dog
behind the neck and on top of the body until approximately behind the front legs
as shown in the picture. This will give me an idea of the length I will need to make the
vest.

To measure for any other items such as dresses, raincoats, coats, robes, snowsuits or pj's, I will
need a measurement from the neck to the base (not the tip) of the tail along the top the
dogs body in addition to the above measurements.

It is best to give measurements for legs if the item ordered has legs in them.
Measure from the inside leg to where you want the material to stop. For instance, to
measure the front leg length, measure from the "arm-pit" to the inside "ankle". The same
would work for the backlegs measuring the inner thigh or where the leg meets the
groin area down to the "ankle"

For any apparel such as belly bands and panties, we need a waist measurement. Measure
around the waist, in front of the hindlegs.

CARE--The care and cleaning of your item will help extend its lifetime
and keep it looking like new.
All items with velcro should be washed with the velcro straps closed
You can handwash them with mild detergent, rinse well, then squeeze
dry between a towel and then lay flat to air dry.
If it needs pressed with an iron..do so carefully on low heat settings
being careful NOT to press the velcro, as it will melt. To keep the velcro
nice and 'sticky', make sure to clean out the bristles of the velcro with
an old toothbrush so that fur, lint etc doesn't accumulate. This causes
the velcro to lose its ability to hold together. To wash raincoats, just
machine or hand wash and put in dryer for just a few minutes to let garment
get 'steamed', then lay flat to dry. Do not iron raincoats. All fleece
fabrics can be machine washed and dried, but turn garment inside out to
help prevent fleece from "pilling"
~Faux Fur~
Faux fur can be washed in water with mild detergent and then line dried. Please never put
faux fur in the dryer or anywhere near heat. It could actually melt
the fabric hairs.

Please-Please--PLEASE!!
NEVER LEAVE YOUR PET UNATTENDED WHILE WEARING
Dinky Dawg CLOTHING OR ANY CLOTHING or any HAIR Accessories.
THEY CAN CHEW OFF PIECES OF FABRIC, VELCRO, DECORATIONS
or TRIM WHICH COULD CAUSE THEM TO CHOKE OR BECOME ILL WITH
STOMACH PROBLEMS!

I do my best to get them out to you in a timely manner, but if there are several orders
placed in a small amount of time, I ask for your patience. These items are
sewn to YOUR dogs measurements...and that does take extra time.
I do offer a rush order option during checkout. It is included in
the shipping charges for Express Priority Shipping. This does not
guarantee that the order is shipped next day (I have to make the items)
but that your order is given expedited service and overnight shipping.

  PLEASE NOTE THAT ADDITIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES WILL APPLY TO OUT OF
COUNTRY ORDERS!!  They will be added to your order during checkout.

I do take special orders. Please note the sizes on each item. If your dogs size is not listed,
contact me. If your dog has unique measurements--extra long legs or extra wide chest, I do charge an
additional fee for pattern alterations.
I will be more than happy to make up items using fabric that you provide also,
but I generally charge the same price since I still have notions, backing and my time invested
in the item. I usually do deduct my shipping charges when you provide the fabric. Please email
me before sending so I can make sure the type of fabric is suitable for the item you wish to
order. I will also be glad to add anything you would like to a specific item such as ribbons,
lace or special trims at a small additional charge.
